While photographing Karin, who is an aspiring model and actress, for her profile photos, I asked if I could take a few more shots of her.  I wanted to photograph her in the style of my Fine Art Children’s sessions. Karin was excited and eager to comply.

We got some lovely photos of her. Karin, who is age 12, was unbelievably comfortable in front of the camera and easy to work with. Which I have to say,  makes it doubly fun for me. This photo was one of her absolute favorites from the session, and actually, it was my favorite as well.

Showing the “Before and After” photos can be amazing to see the evolution from straight out of the camera to my finished vision. When I take a photo I am always seeing the vision of the finished photo instead of what the camera actually sees.

Besides all the planning, designing, choosing the lighting and posing in order to get good photos,  next comes the vision I want to create in photoshop.

As you can see, I changed the color tones, did some skin retouching and added texture in the background to create a much more dynamic image.

I thought the snow on Christmas was so special it really made my holiday wonderful. We haven’t had any since and am still hoping for some before I want spring to come(which will be soon). I did get this early morning frosty photo of an old farm fence.
It does give one a cold winter feeling. Brrr. Makes me want to be home by the fire drinking hot tea.

Jamie is one of my favorite client’s. I have photographed her family and beautiful little girl Jailyn at 3 months and 1 year. You may remember seeing one of Jailyn’s photos of her standing in her daddy’s army boots. Jamie is now expecting her second child(boy) and wanted to get maternity photos taken. I am so glad she asked me to photograph this special time in her life and I will also be photographing her newborn baby boy which is due in November.
Jailyn was more interested in exploring then having her picture taken so I only got a few with her, but the we still got some great photos during the session.

Emily is a lovely young girl interested in becoming a model. She approached me at a local event asking if I am ever in need of a model. I have had an idea to do a vintage session using a beautiful antique dress given me by a past client which I thought she would perfect. This dress is extremely small but it happened to just fit her. Emily was very easy to work with and did a great job modeling. Check out some of the images from that session.

We had a short vacation and took a two day trip to Port Townsend.  Port Townsend is one of my favorite cities to visit and is doubly great because we now have friends that live there.  I decided to challenge myself and made the choice of using only my 15mm fisheye lens to photograph.  I was able to get some interesting images using the fisheye lens especially at Fort Worden in the bunkers.  These bunkers are so cool!  The textures and the light were great to play with, and there is a maze of rooms, stairways and corridors that are wonderful to explore.  I saw this awesome light coming through a doorway into a room and talked Brad into standing there to capture the last photo.  I love it!
